Description Robert Half is seeking an ambitious and success
driven Controller to join the ranks at a well-respected
family-owned and local company. This leadership role oversees an
accounting and clerical department. As the Controller, you will
plan and direct all accounting operational functions, manage the
accumulation and consolidation of financial information for
internal and external financial statements, assess accounting and
internal control systems, and guide departmental staff. This

responsibility. The Controller will be a full-time employment
opportunity and will be located in the Stockton, California region.
Major responsibilities
- Manage the timing for monthly billing and other cash management
techniques to make sure cash collection is on time
- Prepare cash-flow reports that project cash needs at weekly and
monthly intervals, and handle daily cash management
- Assess deliverables of self and team to verify they meet client
expectations
- Handle monthly and annual close of income statement and balance
sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis
- Each month, present executive committee and partners with
financial reports
- Assess, execute and streamline policies, procedures, controls
and most methodologies
- Advance Finance Department initiatives, such as software and
systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide
improvements, as needed, with research, planning and
implementation
- Oversee the activities of the finance department, such as
accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
- Able to perform additional tasks beyond formal job duties
- Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and
monitor on a monthly basis
- Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure that
firm-wide operation is efficient and effective Requirements - 7+
years of progressive accounting experience, including as a
Controller preferred
- Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve
problems
- Attention to detail and ability to follow standard procedures
is a requirement
- Strong communication skills and able to receive criticism
well
- Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and
deadlines
- Prior experience in a public accounting environment is highly
valued
- Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly
changing company environment
- BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business
related field
- CPA or MBA preferred
- Excellent technology, analytics and management experience
required
- Able to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences
with wide-ranging backgrounds
- Demonstrated ability in strong analytical, quantitative and
social skills
- Proven knowledge of financial modeling
- Logistics & distribution experience
- General familiarity with financial reporting
- Skills in Vendor Relationship Management
- Well-founded grasp of Financial Metrics
- Wide ranging experience with cash flow management
- Earlier work involving cash management
- Experience with Financial Management
- Previous experience working with Manage Relationships
- Quality experience with financial statement preparation
- Practical knowledge of general ledger
- Month end closings experience
- Good understanding of Human Capital Management
- Transportation Logistics experience
