Architecture and Engineering Office Human Resources Manager " (Sacramento, California) Position: Human Resources Manager Location: Sacramento California Duration: Full-Time Permanent Hire Prestigious multidisciplinary Architecture, Engineering and Planning firm specialized in serving the building needs of healthcare, education, corporate, institutional, and university projects; actively seeks talented, skilled, and experienced Human Resources Manager to join our Sacramento, CA office. The successful Human Resources Manager will be based within our Sacramento, CA office but will also act in a supporting role to our Los Angeles office assisting with HR and Payroll related matters. Human Resources Manager Qualifications and Experience: The ideal and qualified candidate will have a Bachelors degree in Human Resources (or related field) and 7+ years of Human Resource Generalist work experience (preferable within the Professional Services industry). Expert knowledge of California Employment Law and proficient working knowledge of iCIMS applicant tracking software and Microsoft Office Suite. Strong and effective oral and written communication skills as well as strong presentation skills Able to communicate with employees at all levels of our organization. Ability to analyze and assimilate information from multiple sources to develop clear, actionable steps and recommendations Must have a high level of integrity Strong ability to multi-task, handling multiple priorities with a sense of urgency Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Creative problem solving and critical decision-making skills Exceptional customer service HR Managers with the following qualifications and experience are a huge plus: - Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) or SHRM-SCP certification - Past work experience working for a Professional Services firm such as an Architecture, Engineering, Environmental Consulting or Construction Management firm. Human Resources Manager Role and Responsibilities: (Include but are not limited to) - Participates in developing HR department goals, objectives and systems. - Recommends and implements new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in the efficiency of the HR department and performed services. - Leads HR strategic goal projects as needed. - Using the HRIS system and other information resources, generates a variety of department reports in order to compile related statistics and to provide useful information to the organization. - Ensures policies, procedures and reporting are in compliance with legal requirements and government reporting regulations. - Keeps abreast of current trends and developments in human resources by establishing professional affiliations and participating in professional activities to include seminars, conferences, and reading appropriate books and journals. - Provides support and consulting in assigned offices in all human resources functions. - Conducts recruitment efforts for exempt and nonexempt staff. - Acts as trusted advisor providing advice and counsel to managers on employee relations matters. - Performs employee relations activities to promote increased communication, conflict resolution, and employee recognition programs. - Counsels employees and leadership to settle work-related conflicts through advice and recommendation. - Consults with the Director of HR to provide compensation recommendations to ensure compliance and equity within the organization. - Initiates and participates in staff development, including coaching, performance evaluations, career path, and compensation recommendations. - Develops, writes, and updates job descriptions from direct observation and/or interviews with the position incumbent and discussions with supervisors. - Collaborates on the development of onboarding content and conducts in-office new employee orientation. - Updates the HRIS system accurately and on a timely basis with changes in personnel and compensation levels - Facilitates various training programs to include hiring and selection, performance management, supervisor and leadership skills, and HR legal updates - Researches and recommends external employee training, when applicable HOW TO APPLY: Qualified candidates please email detailed resume and brief cover letter to career@johnsongroupinc.com for immediate and entirely confidential employment consideration.
