POSITION SUMMARY: Under minimal supervision, the Environmental Services Director directs and manages the operations for a hospital level cleaning contract, including all aspects of compliance and deliverables. Employees in this job class develop and manage their respective budgets, oversee staffing and performance management, and make decisions effecting the fulfillment of the unique goals of the healthcare customer. This job class requires a comprehensive understanding of effective management techniques, proper safety and security protocols, financial management, as well as aptitude for implementing housekeeping policies and procedures in a hospital environment. TYPICAL DUTIES: *Serves as PRIDE's primary Point of Contact (POC) with the customer and meets with customer representatives to ensure continuing communication and customer satisfaction. *Assures that all contract deliverables, including compliance documentation, is prepared and available to the customer as stipulated by the contract. *Supervises employees; ensures a competent, motivated team through hiring, training, development, counseling and reviewing the performance of employees. *Collaborates with customer on requests for changes in service levels or standards. *Establishes in conjunction with the management team operational processes to insure conformance to customer expectations. *Assures quality and safety standards are being maintained and corrective action measures are taken to improve safety, quality, and operational performance. *Oversees all activities related to human resource management including; job design, resource allocation, recruitment and retention, selection, training and development, performance evaluation, motivation, counseling, conflict management, discipline, discharge, and workers' compensation. *Develops staffing plans and ensures contract mission ratio compliance through coordination with Case Managers and operations team. *Oversees the development, implementation, and updating of labor schedules to support a 24/7 work environment. *Prepares the contract budget by evaluating capital needs, labor requirements, supplies and materials. Plans material acquisitions, develop subcontractor agreements. *Approves and monitors all expenditures on an ongoing basis and provides explanations to budget variances. *Establishes and leads management team meetings on a regular basis; invites recommendations from staff in order to improve operations. *Serves as a liaison with the corporate office to help the staff understand and observe company processes and procedures with respect to accounting, payroll, human resources, safety, purchasing, IT, etc. Performs other duties and special projects as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: --- Ten or more years of management experience with increasingly responsible positions, including profit and loss responsibility and budgeting; --- Supervisory skills to hire qualified employees, provide for their professional development, administer performance management and disciplinary processes effectively, and address employee relations appropriately; --- Ability to effectively supervise and develop assigned team to meet strategic goals; --- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; to make presentations and respond to inquiries by senior management, customers, employees, public, and/or PRIDE's board of directors; --- Demonstrated leadership, organizational, reasoning, problem solving and analytical skills; --- Human relations skills to build effective relationships with team, customers and public; --- Exceptional customer service skills; --- Advanced computer literacy including knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database and presentation software; --- Knowledge of business English including vocabulary, spelling, and correct grammatical usage and punctuation; --- Mathematical skills to include the ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations; --- Ability to establish priorities and solve a wide range of business, operational and strategic management problems; --- Flexibility to respond to changing work priorities and handle numerous projects at the same time. EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: Bachelors in Business Administration or related field A comparable combination of formal education and work experience will be considered. CERTIFICATES OR LICENSES REQUIRED: The following licenses or certificates may be required depending on local, state and/or contract requirements: CEH or CHESP Certified Valid Driver's License PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance: --- Viewing computer screen/monitor WORK ENVIRONMENT: Some of the work is performed in a normal office environment with limited privacy and some exposure to background noise. The remainder of the work is in a prison healthcare facility with specialized needs for security and environmental control.
