  • 25% - Lead the Stockton manufacturing facility which produces tomato ingredients and specialty concentrates required for 4,902 SKU's.- The Stockton, California facility produces in excess of 100 million pounds of tomato ingredient annually.
  • 10% - Lead efforts in the implementation and continuous improvement of health and safety programs at the Stockton manufacturing facility.- This includes creating and implementing the Annual Safety Plan through in-depth analysis, personnel training, policy enforcement, recognition, program monitoring and improvements, annual safety audit, and accident investigation.
  • 10% - In coordination with Corporate QA and the Ag Operations Quality Manager, implement quality and food safety policies and procedures to guarantee the wholesomeness of all agriculture based products produced at the facility.- This includes plant quality system compliance with FDA, GMP, HACCP, SQF, Sanitation, Organic and Kosher.- Responsible for achieving the ingredient quality requirements for the Prego, Pace, Pepperidge Farm, V8, Soup, Sauce and Juice brands.
  • 10% - Co-develop and implement the three year Ag Ops Maintenance and Reliability strategic plan.- Steer vision, engage and empower operations staff and employees to execute and deliver results.
  • 10% - Identify, develop, and execute strategies for capital spending plan to drive continuous improvement, operational reliability and reduce COPM.
  • 10% - Develop and administer $50 million annual budget for the Stockton facility.- Identify and implement cost savings opportunities to deliver TDC.
  • 10% - Direct environmental programs and reporting requirements in accordance with all city, county, state and federal laws.- Ensure plant is on track to meet all CEMMS requirements and 2025 corporate sustainability and environmental goals.
  • 5% - Salaried and hourly staff development for advancement in multiple business units and functions.- This includes salaried IDP's and career development, as well as hourly opportunity development and labor relations. 5% - Lead strategic planning for manufacturing in support of innovation and new product initiatives relating to vegetable concentrates by leveraging flexible assets and manufacturing processes.
  • 5% - Responsible for driving programs and activities that are initiated from corporate headquarters.- The plant manager must prioritize, manage, and execute plans that directly support Corporate goals, programs and strategies.- These initiatives include communications with a broad network team, mobilization of local resources, off site training, and tracking of progress/results.Job Complexity
    • The Stockton plant must run uninterrupted, 24/7, in the processing of seasonal, highly perishable crops. Due to the unique, flat organization of the Stockton plant, the plant manager must remain accessible at all times for the duration of the approximately 3 month operating season.- Must function effectively and be comfortable in dynamic, high stress/problem solving situations.- Multi-tasking Requirement Level - HIGH.--
    • Strategic and forward thinking, with the ability to focus resources on mid-term and long-term manufacturing and operational initiatives that secure the company's ability to supply concentrates for existing and future business needs.
    • Direct over 130 employees in a seasonal operation with effective on-boarding techniques to ensure safety, quality and food safety, and reliable operation throughout the processing season.
    • Oversight to all aspects of plant off-season preventative maintenance program and in-season high performance (zero downtime) maintenance operation. This requires extensive knowledge of maintenance requirements for a wide variety of equipment and operations.
    • Requires direct and personal leadership and ownership of health and safety program to ensure all company and OSHA required safety programs are correctly implemented and safety practices enforced. Develop and maintain an outstanding commitment to personnel safety that is employee driven, which requires highly visible commitment and leadership.
    • Responsible for developing and managing all aspects of expense and capital budget of over $18 million.- Manage conversion of $32 million of incoming ingredients into finished product. Requires complete understanding of both accounting and operation functions.
    • Requires extensive knowledge, expertise, and direct involvement with a broad spectrum of government elected officials and all aspects of state and federal environmental laws and plant programs designed to meet these complex requirements.- Examples of contacts are: State Dept. of Health Services, State Water Resources Control Board, Cal-EPA, Air Quality Management Districts, USDA, FDA, City and County officials, EEQC, and OSHA.
    • Requires ownership of all Stockton plant HR activities including seasonal operator training and policy enforcement. Must be directly involved with staffing of maintenance positions and on-going training for both management and skill enhancement.
    • Requires personal responsibility, knowledge, enforcement, and involvement in all quality programs involved with manufacturing paste and dice. Includes HAACP, GMPs, SQF, Kosher, Organic, sanitation, and Food Safety audit requirements.
    • Lead short and long term planning and implementation of capital plan. Requires coordination with WHQ capital team, project development, project approval process, project implementation management, and project tracking.
    • Requires extensive knowledge of union contract and ability to interpret and administer contract requirement fairly. Represents the company's interest through direct communication and negotiation with union representatives.
    • Requires excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with suppliers, 3rd party providers and NGO's involved with ingredient delivery, grading, and finished product distribution.--
    • Must function effectively in a matrix organization. There are numerous stake holders in the Stockton operation both within Campbell's and outside which requires an understanding of each relationship and how to deal effectively with a wide range of people.- Communication must be managed upwardly and appropriately in this matrix environment.
    • Represent company interests in community relations.
    • DFI (Designated For Incarceration) for Environmental, Food Safety, and Health and Safety violations. ---
    • Property & infrastructure management at the Stockton, CA manufacturing facility.Job Specifications
