seeking locum Registered Nurses to support our team at various
California VA Health Care System facilities (San Francisco, Fresno,
Mather, Palo Alto, Los Angeles, Long Beach, San Diego, Loma Linda)

programs. License/Education:
- ADN or BSN (preferred) in nursing from an accredited nursing
program;
- Active, unrestricted license to practice as an RN in the
appropriate state of practice.
- AHA Basic Life Support certification required; ACLS
preferred
- Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing required. Bachelor
of Science in Nursing preferred. Experience:
- Minimum of 12 months experience as a licensed practitioner
required
- Recent experience as an RN in an Acute Care setting preferred.
At least one (1) year of acute care experience working with a
patient population similar to Medical/Surgical is highly
preferred.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in
English.
- Proficient with electronic health records, communications
systems, computers, etc. Note: Must maintain licensing
requirements/certification/accreditation during the entire
performance period. Must agree to a criminal background check, and
drug testing, as a prerequisite for contract performance. Job
Description:
- Supervise appropriate members of the health care team as they
deliver patient care. Monitor and delegate patient care
activities.
- Ensure Infection Control procedures and HIPPA compliance.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to coordinate
patient care and implement a plan of care for assigned
patients.
- Evaluate patient outcomes and responses to plans of care to
determine the effectiveness of that plan and to determine the
patient's readiness to be discharged.
- Revise plans of care as necessary and make referrals as
necessary after evaluating patient outcomes and responses. Provide
ongoing assessments of patient conditions (physical and
psychosocial) to assist with the implementation and revision (as
necessary) of the plan of care.
- Per the scope of nursing practice, review and administer
patient medications, treatments, and procedures.
- Take appropriate action when noting a change in a patient's
clinical condition and document any intervention procedures
taken.
- Review patient test results, identify critical results,
communicate those results in a timely manner, and incorporate the
implications of such test results into the plan of care as
appropriate.
- Develop and implement ongoing discharge plans
- Appropriately use pain management resources and other
interventions to provide pain relief. **EMPLOYMENT IS CONTINGENT
