Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Labor and Delivery - Discipline: RN - Start Date: ASAP - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position working night shifts with Cerner EMR experience and advanced perinatal certifications. Responsibilities - Work in an acute care hospital Labor & Delivery unit with approximately 300 deliveries per month - Unit includes 2 OB ED beds, 4 antepartum rooms, 9 labor rooms, and 2 ORs - Patient population consists of high risk OB cases with multiple co-morbidities and multiple births - Expected to float to postpartum and NICU as needed, with postpartum being the primary float location - Night shift position with every other weekend required and possible additional weekends depending on rotations - No call requirements - Cerner EMR, fetal link, and hugs security system are used in this unit and prior Cerner experience is required - Nurse aides (OB techs) support each shift and charge nurse generally does not take patients - Two-shift floor-specific orientation provided - Holiday coverage required for two out of three major holidays - Responsibilities include care for high risk OB patients, multiple births, and facilitating skin-to-skin care during the first hour after delivery - NICU nurse and respiratory therapist attend all high-risk deliveries - No neonatal surgeries are performed at this facility; patients requiring increased care are transferred to a higher level facility - Unit follows state and AWHONN staffing ratio guidelines - Surrogacy and multiples are common in this patient population - Scrub color is provided by the hospital - Returning candidates must not have worked for CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facilities in the past year - Candidates must provide a valid driver’s license for identification purposes Requirements - Active RN license (state or compact); pending licenses not accepted - Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience required - Current BLS, ACLS, NRP, and Advanced Fetal Monitoring certifications required; all must be active at time of consideration - Recent Cerner EMR experience required - Must possess strong IV skills - No first-time travelers will be considered for this role - Applicants must have completed all required online modules prior to arrival - Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months, and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years Benefits - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-601910.
