Posting Details Position Information Title Program Director- Master of Science, Nursing Campus Stockton Department Provost Posting Number F00200 Full or Part Time Full Time Open Date Close Date Open Until Filled No Days Per Week Weeks Per Year Position Description Position Description The founding Program Director for Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) Program will be responsible for program planning, implementation, administration, fiscal management, and ongoing review and assessment. The MSN program is a post-licensure, master's degree program with a focus in rehabilitation nursing delivered primarily online. The Director will be responsible for the attainment of accreditation from the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). This is a twelve-month non-tenure track faculty appointment. Academic rank commensurate with experience. Essential functions include directing the planning, development, implementation, administration and evaluation of the Master of Science Nursing Program. ---Responsible for the academic quality of the program ---Provide leadership for specialized accreditation and university regional accreditation. Attain and maintain CCNE accreditation status including timely submission of annual report, program fees, students' verification process and other reports as requested ---Recruit faculty as needed to meet the needs of the program and curriculum ---Coordinate student admissions processes, including collaboration with the Graduate School office of admissions and enrollment services ---Participate in student recruitment, advisement, evaluation and counseling ---Plan and conduct formal meetings with program faculty and staff ---Supervise MSN program staff and faculty, monitoring workloads and performance ---Support faculty development, particularly related to online educational strategies ---Teach required courses in the curriculum in areas of expertise ---Coordinate and support inter-professional education between the nursing program and other disciplines at Pacific ---Engage across professional and disciplinary programs in the development and growth of the curriculum to ensure meaningful collaborative opportunities in all aspects of the teaching and learning program ---Use innovative instruction and technology in the development and delivery of this primarily online curriculum ---Plan, develop, and evaluate all courses and the overall curriculum in collaboration with the faculty ---Develop policies and procedures for effectively managing all components of the program in accordance with University policies and procedures, including program admissions, retention, and completion to ensure fair, equitable, and considerable treatment of prospective and enrolled students ---Review and evaluate survey data from course and instructor evaluations, graduate exit interviews, alumni surveys, and employer surveys to ensure student outcomes and goals are achieved in collaboration with the program evaluator ---Oversee program assessment working in collaboration with the external program evaluator ---Maintain communication and coordination of the program with the faculty, clinical preceptors, external stakeholders, and all individuals or disciplines involved with the program ---Maintain records and complaints about the program received from students or others, including the disposition of the complaint and resolution ---Oversee budget, and manage program resources ethically and responsibly in accordance with University policy ---Serve on internal and external committees and taskforces as requested by the Dean ---Serve on state and national professional committees as appropriate ---Represent the program to the community and healthcare organizations ---With support of the Dean, develop and maintain a program advisory board ---Actively work on scholarship activities ---Work with the Dean and institutional advancement, and collaborate with the Office of the Provost, development teams, and other departments to enhance corporate, employer, alumni, and other stakeholder relationships, thereby developing additional resource opportunities ---Assist in other related areas as requested by the Dean. Basic Qualifications Education/Experience/Certifications: ---Registered Nurse licensed by the State of California or eligible for licensure within one year of appointment ---An earned doctoral degree (PhD, EdD, or DNP) ---A minimum of three years experience in graduate nursing education ---Experience in online education Skills/Knowledge and Expertise ---Knowledge of state, federal and local laws/regulations relating to program compliance and other regulatory standards such as the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) and other accreditation standards. ---Effective interpersonal skills and sensitivity to academic and personnel issues ---Strong written and verbal communication skills ---Proven organizational ability ---Ability to mentor personnel ---Positive attitude, proven ability to work successfully with diverse populations and demonstrated commitment to promote and enhance diversity and inclusion Additional Qualifications Valid driver's license required. Incumbent must also be able to meet the University's fleet rules and be eligible to drive for University business. The University's insurance carrier reserves the right to exclude applicants based on their driving record. Physical Requirements Requires extended periods of sitting and repetitive hand/wrist motion while using computer keyboard and phone. Occasional standing, climbing stairs, bending, stooping and reaching. Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
