You will bring deep technical expertise in advertising, leadership skills, and a passion for creating efficient solutions. Expedia's Advertising is a global leader in travel industry advertising. You will design and build core adtech systems, collaborate with cross-functional teams, mentor engineers, and set technical strategies.This role oversees all advertising technology within Expedia, working across various products and locations, reporting directly to the Ads Technology leader. It offers a unique opportunity to drive innovation, growth, and efficiency in our advertising tech landscape.Key Responsibilities

  • Lead design and development of scalable auction systems with optimal performance and low latency
  • Define technical requirements and collaborate with teams on auction features
  • Develop algorithms for bidding, pricing, and real-time decisions
  • Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate innovative approaches
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship
  • Lead code reviews and architectural discussions
  • Work with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions
  • Optimize system performance and reliabilityQualifications
    • Minimum 10 years of software engineering experience, especially in advertising and auction systems
    • Proven experience in scalable, high-performance auction system design
    • Proficiency in Java or C++, understanding of software design principles
    • Deep knowledge of advertising tech, including real-time bidding and OpenRTB
    • Experience with data-driven decision-making, machine learning, and analytics
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Experience with inventory management forecasting models
    • Knowledge of ad measurement and attribution systems
