Responsibilities: Position Summary:Under the direction of the
Chief and Assistant Chief, this position will coordinate the
activities of, provide direction to, and monitor the work of the
department's engineers. Operates and maintains stationary engines
and mechanical equipment, such as compressors, generators, turbines
and steam boilers. Provides for utilities such as heat,
refrigeration, air conditioning, electrical power and other
services for the medical center. This position requires the full
understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of
the Organization. It is expected that the employee will demonstrate
behavior consistent with the Core Values. The employee shall
support the Organization's strategic plan and the goals and
direction of the Performance Improvement Plan (PIP).
Qualifications: Minimum:Three (3) to five (5) years' experience
or four (4) year apprenticeship working in operations and
maintenance. Maintenance, installation, construction and
maintenance of equipment, utilities and buildings in hospitals
required.Extensive exposure to any of the following, including but
not limited to; Electrical, Air Conditioning, Carpentry, Boiler,
etc. Working knowledge of Medical Center systems a plus. Ability to
communicate with workers and other members of Medical Center Staff,
both oral and written. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and
specifications for installation and maintenance of equipment.
Ability to resolve issues in a fast pace
environment.Preferred:Experience in supervision preferred. A
general mechanical ability in multiple trades is desired.
Supervisory skills preferred.
