Willdan is excited to announce that we are currently recruiting for an opening within our Code Enforcement Division.

*JOB DESCRIPTION*

*SUMMARY: *Positions in this classification perform at the advanced level of the Code Enforcement Officer job series. They include employees who have extensive experience related to the field of Code Enforcement. Incumbents work under minimal supervision, and assignments may be complex and detail oriented by nature. Decisions are made within established procedural frameworks.

*ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: *

- Receives complaints regarding violations of City/County ordinances and regulations; researches City/County codes for appropriate sections.

- Conducts field investigations regarding possible violations of a variety of City/County codes and ordinances, and related state codes including zoning, nuisance, property maintenance, housing, transportation, and animal and business license/permits, health and sanitation.

- Explains and interprets City/County ordinances to violators; sets deadlines for compliance and follow-up. Writes notices of violation and directives outlining and describing areas to be brought into compliance.

- May issue, when required, notices to appear, administrative/civil citations and inspection warrants to violators who fail to comply within specified time limits.

- Maintains daily inspection logs, records and files.

- Takes photographs of violations and prepares comprehensive written reports. Works with various City/County divisions, departments and other agencies such as Animal Control and Health Department.

- Seeks, when required, prosecution through the municipal court system; coordinates with the prosecutor; collects and analyzes evidence for complaint preparation and case prosecution.

- Testifies in court as required. Performs other job-related duties as required by the jurisdiction.

*QUALIFICATIONS: *

- A combination of education and/or experience that has provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for satisfactory job performance.

- Understandlegal descriptions and boundary maps of real property; analyze and compile technical information on code investigations and violations.

- Interpret and explain appropriate City and State codes, ordinances and regulations.

- Research, extract, and retrieve appropriate data from other departments and outside agencies; conduct effective investigation.

- Conduct effective investigation; applying investigative techniques useful in ensuring compliance with appropriate codes and ordinances.

- Knowledge ofzoning, housing, transportation, health, sanitation, and nuisance ordinances and codes; animal and business license/permit regulations; regulations and requirements of court evidence

- PC 832 certification is required

- Completion of C.A.C.E.O. Modules I, II, and III and registered as a Certified Code Enforcement Officer is desirable

- Seeks, when required, prosecution through the municipal court system; coordinates with the prosecutor; collects and analyzes evidence for complaint preparation and case prosecution.

*COMPENSATION*

Willdan offers highly competitive salary and compensation package equal or greater than local government and other municipal services firms. Compensation is based upon the cost of living in the area, education and experience but ranges from $40,000 to 72,000 annually.
