Position Overview: Sutter Gould Medical Foundation (SGMF)is a non-profit, multi-specialty health care organization affiliated with Sutter Health. Based in Modesto, SGMF provides quality medical care, health education and research activities in a five-county area. SGMF's medical staff includes family practitioners, internists and pediatricians, as well as a range of specialist physicians. Services include imaging, nuclear medicine, a health library, health education programs, occupational medicine, diabetes education, nutrition counseling, infertility counseling, and weight management. Position Summary: The position is responsible for staffing the Information Desk to assure that those who visit the clinic receive the direction and information needed. This position is also responsible for the recruitment, interview and selection of volunteers. This position oversees the activities of the volunteer and works with supervisors to find the right match of the skills of the volunteer to the jobs that need to be done. This position is responsible for providing management and coordination for all volunteer service within all SGMF locations. This position supports key strategic initiatives in any way possible and requested. Qualifications: Minimum Requirements: High school graduate or GED required. Two (2) years previous experience working in a health care related field is strongly desired. Previous experience supervising or providing oversight to the work of others is preferred. Experience working in an environment where requests are made and delegating others to fulfill the requests is required. Skill and Knowledge: Knowledge of computer systems and their software applications is required. Knowledge and experience with alpha filing is required. Knowledge of Worker's Compensation benefits, the understanding of Health insurance guidelines and regulations is helpful. Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred. Excellent customer service and phone skills are required for this position. Proven leadership skills are required. The ability to read, write, and verbally communicate in English. Ability to use or learn to use the Language Line to assist customers. A second language, such as Spanish, Vietnamese, Assyrian, or Cambodian is desired. The ability to motivate and train adults. Good spelling and grammar skills are essential. Ability to deal effectively with challenging customer service interactions. Ability to pay attention to detail and perform work accurately. Skills in developing teamwork among members of a multidisciplinary team. Organizational skills and ability to prioritize work are important for this position. Ability to complete multiple projects and manage shifting priorities with frequent interruptions. The ability to organize and prioritize tasks and bring projects to timely completion. Ability to manage own timeline and schedule own tasks. Must have the ability to work efficiently without constant supervision. Must demonstrate excellent problem solving skills. Must have the ability to work effectively with all levels of administration and medical staff personnel. Ability to learn how to operate office equipment.
