As a Plant Superintendent, you will be responsible for the overall performance of the Production department. This position is directly responsible for driving improvements in the areas of Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost of all manufacturing operations within our Automatic Stamping, Manual Fabrication, and Shearbrace value streams. Overall scope of the position is to medium to long term planning. That's year one. If career growth is important to you, we not only know how to help you with that, it's what we love to do: YOU'LL BE DOING (% of Time)Collaborate with Plant Leadership Team to drive continuous improvement initiatives by identifying large scale improvement projects. Work to develop and implement plans & activities that will assist the organization in achieving annual cost savings targets. (50%)Lead, motivate and direct employees using effective performance management techniques, including establishing expectations and goals, providing recognition and feedback, and addressing performance problems. Coach, encourage, and develop employees according to their unique interests and strengths. Empower employees to take responsibility for their career and performance. Delegate responsibility, expect accountability, and gain regular feedback. Foster a spirit of teamwork and unity among department members and the organization. Works with leaders to develop succession plan within each department. Create, implement and monitor staffing plans to support forecasted demand. (40%)Works closely with Inventory control team to ensure Medium to long term production plans supports future customer needs, and resolving critical needs/ exceptions as they arise. (10%)DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCEIf you can do everything listed above, you've got what it takes. Perhaps some of the following would be helpful too:Preferred- BS or BA in Operations Management or Operations Manufacturing or Engineering, or Industrial EngineeringRequired- 5 years in manufacturing/ fabrication environmentRequired- 5 years managing a staff of 50+Required- 3 years utilizing Lean manufacturing toolsPreferred- SAP, or similar ERP system experiencePreferred- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
