Job Description Summary of the Job Description: This role is accountable for managing the daily operations of the factory floor; ensuring that the shift meets defined safety, quality, and production goals while adhering to all applicable legal and food safety regulations. Functions That Are Required Manages and directs assigned shift tasks, ensuring that product meets Niagara's safety, quality, and throughput standards. Through open communication, visibility, and involvement, develops strong working relationships with team members in order to foster a pleasant work environment that maximizes safety, employee engagement, productivity, and throughput. Prior to the start of each shift, analyzes the production schedule and modifies team member assignments to fulfill production targets. Ascertains the accuracy of discrete jobs in Oracle (including quality and the bill of materials list), the Warehouse Management System, and/or the Line Management System. Responsible for coaching and developing team members, making employment choices, and resolving conflicts through conflict resolution. Hires, trains, coaches, and evaluates team members' performance. Co-ordinates recruiting, corrective actions, and terminations with Human Resources and the Production Manager. Prior to changeovers, inspects raw materials to verify proper inventories for manufacturing runs. Conducts first quality checks following changeovers to ensure that no nonconforming product is produced. Collaborates with the Maintenance Department to resolve production line downtime incidents. Prepares shift reports for the Production Manager, including production numbers, downtime, attendance, overtime, and quality checks. Conducts walkthroughs throughout the shift to verify team members adhere to safety, quality, and housekeeping standards. Interacts with many departments throughout the organization to ensure that customer deadlines are met. Participates in recruiting manager interviews. Collaborates with plant leadership and shift team members to promote a safety culture that is world-class. Weekly safety talk trainings, daily safety/quality/production meetings, and hourly safety walks are all conducted by this position. Adheres to the highest levels of safety programs, guidelines, rules, and regulations for the firm and plant. At all times, adheres to Niagara's Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Food Safety Standards. Develops, recommends, and implements measures to enhance manufacturing processes, equipment performance, and product quality. Suggestions modifications in working circumstances and equipment utilization to increase shift team members' efficiency. Maintains accurate records of allocated team members' time and attendance. Utilizes the Efficiency Improvement Tools to comprehend and comment on line downtime, as well as to communicate effectively in accordance with the escalation process. Attendance that is consistent and predictable is a critical feature of the job. Capable of working 12-hour shifts, day or night, on a rotating 2-2-3 schedule or according to production need.
