The Tax Specialty Group (TSG) at Moss Adams is comprised of tax professionals who go beyond complianceproviding deep technical and strategic guidance to clients so they're better equipped to tackle their most vexing challenges and embrace emerging opportunity. Within TSG, the Tangible Asset Incentive Services team helps clients with energy credits and incentives. These business advisors also specialize in solutions that span energy credits and incentives, cost segregation studies, fixed asset consulting, and tangible property regulations. Join one of the fastest growing groups at Moss Adams and start realizing your potential.We are currently seeking an Energy Modeler to join our Tangible Asset Incentive Services team to help grow our Energy Practice. Our Tangible Asset Incentive Services team is a hybrid of tax, accounting, construction estimating, and energy modeling that provides real estate owners and investors with significant tax savings opportunities.An energy modeler will use software to construct commercial building energy models to represent the energy performance of buildings compared against industry standards.Individuals who thrive at Moss Adams exhibit the following success skills Collaboration, Critical Thinking, Emotional Intelligence, Executive Presence, Growth Mindset, Intellectual Curiosity, and Results Focus.Responsibilities :

  • Analyzes potential projects and whether energy efficiency tax incentives are appropriate
  • Conducts onsite visits to potential clients and subject property inspections
  • Manages multiple engagements/projects
  • Communicates project status with internal and external clientele
  • Analyzes information and appropriately identifies technical issues
  • Reviews junior members work product
  • Manages project budgets
  • Mentors and develops junior team members
  • Presents the report and findings to clientele
  • Assists in the hiring, training and mentoring of staff
  • Adheres to the highest degree of professional standards and strict client confidentiality
  • Provides timely, high-quality client service that meets or exceeds client expectations
  • Assists with practice developmentQualifications :
    • Bachelor's degree required; with an emphasis in construction management, engineering, accounting or related field preferred
    • Experience with energy modeling software preferred
    • Experience with Tax Code Section 179D energy modeling preferred
    • Ability to identify technical issues, analyze information and report findings to the client
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to multi-task while maintaining careful attention to detail and accuracy
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software
