Job Description:
ACT Spay / Neuter Clinic is the only nonprofit HQHVSN (High
Quality, High Volume Spay and Neuter) Clinic in San Joaquin County
dedicated to providing low cost spay and neuter services to the
local community and surrounding areas. Our friendly and
compassionate staff treat all animals that come into our clinic as
if they were their own pets. We are seeking Registered Veterinary
Technicians that are passionate about providing high-quality spay
and neuter veterinary care to the dogs and cats in our community.
Are you are tired of working extra long days, night shifts or every
weekend? Are you frustrated when you have to deal with difficult
clients? If so, come work for ACT. As an RVT at ACT you will have
limited contact with clients, we leave that to our wonderful front
office staff. We are open Monday - Friday and only 2 Saturdays a

Personal pet(s) discounts. Responsibilities include but are not
limited to: Assisting with intake and discharge of patients.
Preparing patients for surgical procedures by sedating patients,
intubating & extubating, supplying oxygen and anesthesia,
monitoring patients during surgical procedures, assisting in
surgical procedures, placing & removing IV catheter, administering
IV fluids if necessary, and recovering and monitoring patients
after anesthetic procedures. Recovering patients after surgery.
Each patient needs their vitals taken periodically to ensure they
are within normal limits. Each patient may need additional
treatments in recovery, including vaccinations, nail trim, flea
product, etc. Administering medications IV, IM, SQ, PO to patients
as well as to cats and kittens in the ACT Adoption Program.
Assisting inpatient procedures such as restraining, nail trims,
sedation, blood draws, etc. Assisting doctors with exams, filling
prescriptions, reviewing home care instructions with
caregiver/owner. Assisting in the end of day tasks cleaning and
prepping surgical instruments, restocking supplies as needed,
laundry, and prepping and cleaning of cages, traps, and/or carriers
as needed. Employment Type: Full Time Salary: $24 - $28 Hourly
