The Production Supervisor plans, directs, and coordinates the
manufacturing process to ensure a continuous flow of safe, quality
bakery products. They establish work procedures, maintain
production records, and ensure compliance with quality assurance,
safety, and regulatory requirements. The role also involves
investigating customer complaints, implementing process
improvements, inspecting product quality, training employees, and
supporting special projects as assigned.
Accountabilities:
- Plans,directs, and coordinates the bakeries manufacturing
process to ensure a continuous flow of safe, quality products that
meet or exceed all requirements.
- Plans weekly production schedule in conjunction with the
Materials Coordinator based on master scheduling and inventory
policies set for each Stock Keeping Unit (SKU).
- Completes weekly employee schedule based on the Production
schedule.
- Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet Production
schedule.
- Maintains time and Production records.
- Documents line inefficiencies and downtime to identify issues.
Works in conjunction with others to resolve them in a timely
manner.
- Completes duties, and ensures that the Production team
completes their duties, in accordance with quality assurance, Good
Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), safety, and other company programs
and procedures, and in accordance with government codes and
regulations.
- Works to maintain and improve the quality, legality, and safety
of each product and the processes used in their manufacture.
Responsible for keeping assigned work area clean and tidy at all
times and reporting any potential contamination and suspicious
activity to a Supervisor immediately.
- Investigate and find resolution of customer complaints by
participating in information gathering, root cause analysis, and
corrective action identification and implementation when required.
Develops, recommends, and implements changes in working conditions
and use of equipment to improve production methods, equipment
performance and efficiency, employee performance, and product
quality.
- Informs the Manufacturing Manager of all significant actions
and/or problems and assists with the resolution of all Production
problems to ensure non-conforming products are identified prior to
release and the issue corrected.
- Assists in supporting and enforcing compliance by all employees
to all Quality Management Systems programs to ensure that products
meet or exceed all safety, legality, and quality
requirements.
- Supports and participates in special projects as
assigned.
- In conjunction with quality assurance staff, inspects and
measures products to verify conformance to specifications. Trains
employees to identify the product that does not meet specifications
and ensure it is not shipped.
- Works to maintain and improve the quality, legality, and safety
of each product and the processes used in their manufacture.
Responsible for keeping assigned work area clean and tidy at all
times and reporting any potential contamination and suspicious
activity to a Supervisor immediately.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or general education degree (GED); or
three years of related bakery or food Production experience and/or
training; or an equivalent combination of education and
experience.
- At least five years of experience working in a bakery
leadership role.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents such as
Production schedules, safety rules, operating and maintenance
instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine
reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before
groups of employees or colleagues in the organization.
- Working knowledge of Spanish preferred.
- To perform this job successfully, an individual should have
knowledge of Microsoft Word processing software, Excel spreadsheet
software, and Outlook email software. Knowledge of inventory
control and Production software is helpful.
Shift: Available to work swing or graveyard
Salary Range:$65,000 - $75,000

candidate's starting pay will vary based on a number of factors,
including, but not limited to location, shift, education, skill,
and experience within the job or the industry. The pay scale listed
for this position is generally for candidates that meet the
specified qualifications and requirements listed In this specific
job description. Additional pay may be determined for those
candidates that exceed these specified qualifications and
