CalPortland puts safety first, and the Maintenance Manager must maintain safety standards that include overseeing employees, visitors, customers and contractor safety. The Maintenance Manager position requires approximately 80% hands on field work and 20% office work. This position works at the close direction of the Terminal Manager.Duties:• Maintenance and PM of mechanical equipment in the facility, including but not limited to: bucket elevators, ship unloader, conveyor belts, cement dome reclamation system• Diagnose and troubleshoot problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints and repair manuals to perform mechanical and electrical repairs to terminal equipment as necessary• Fabrication, assisting in planning and completion of terminal improvements and projects• SAP responsibilities, PO creation, release and tracking, maintenance work orders• Maintaining critical parts inventory, part ordering, and inventory control• Ability to operate mobile equipment; forklift, manlift, front end loader, boom truck, crane• Ensure a high quality of service to all customers, reliable operation of all terminal equipment, and the efficient use of labor and facilities to optimize the cost of the operations• Be knowledgeable of and ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local labor, safety, and environmental regulations• Develop an operating budget; track operating costs and look for ways to improve costs without sacrificing safety or service• Demonstrate very solid mechanical/control system skills and the ability to train others• Perform operating and maintenance activities as necessary to ensure successful terminal operation• Develop and implement successful training programs for terminal personnel• Develop and maintain a teamwork environment#HP Education:High school diploma, AA degree preferredRequirements/Qualifications:• Able to work in confined spaces• Welding and cutting skills required- Welding Certification Preferred• Ability to lift 50 + pounds• Able to exert 20 to 50 lbs. of force occasionally and/or 10 to 25 lbs. of force frequently, & or climb stairs/ ladders up to 100 ft.• Able to use various electric and air powered hand, welding, cutting tools, precision instruments, and electrical meters• Computer literate, Microsoft Office• Self-motivated and able to work alone with little supervision• Willingness to make decisions and demonstrate a sense of urgency• Strong demonstrated leadership, coaching, and interpersonal skills• Strong written and oral communication skillsPreferred:• 5+ years of previous industrial mechanical experience• Previous dry bulk cement experience preferred• Experience/Knowledge of SAPConditions of Employment:Successful candidate must submit to post offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen and background check. Some positions require FMCSA regulated on-going drug and alcohol testing.
